Awards
We’ve added $50 cash prizes to each of the Audience Choice and Judges’ Choice winners from each day. Also, we’ve added a free entry into this year’s Des Moines 48 Hour Film Project for the Best of Show winner.
Each day of the competition will showcase up to 10 troupes who will perform their 11-minute plays.
All awards will be given at the 2009 711 Theatre Project Awards & Wrap Party at the Vaudeville Mews (212 4th St, Des Moines) June 7 from 2 to 4 pm. The party is open for all ages and is FREE!
For each of the performance days - one of each of the following will be awarded:
- Audience Choice plaque with $50 cash prize
- Judges’ Choice plaque with $50 cash prize
- Best Playwriting certificate (Judges’ decision)
- Best Ensemble Performance certificate (Judges’ decision)
- Best Individual Performance certificate (Judges’ decision)
- Best Direction (Judges’ decision)
- Rising Star(s) (Judges’ decision)
- … and more …
Best of Show Trophy, $200 cash prize and free entry into this year’s Des Moines 48 Hour Film Project (July 24-26) will be awarded to one performance company from whom the Judges choose between all of the above winners.

Promotion
The 711 Theatre Project will submit all plays to dramatic publishers and will also be video recording the performances for promotional use of the works submitted. It is our hope that we will help advance Iowans in the theatre industry.
