Another show … another record broken (and another … and another …)
Thank you to everyone involved and all who attended The Taming of the Shrew and Twelfth Night. The bard broken several records that were already shattered earlier this year. What a way to end our third season!
CHANGE records surpassed by The Taming of the Shrew and Twelfth Night:
- Most tickets sold online
- Largest opening-night audience
- Highest average audience size per show
- Total attendance of a production run
Laughter on the 23rd Floor still holds the CHANGE record for the largest single-performance audience size in a production run, Rush Limbaugh in Night School holds the record for total box office dollars for a production, and Corleone holds third place in several of these categories.
Our third season (2007-2008) audience numbers almost equaled the audience count of the first two seasons, combined (missed it by about 200). If we were to add the 711 Theatre Project audience totals, the 3rd season would surpass the combined totals of the first two, but CHANGE considers the 711 Theatre Project a theatrical event and not a “regular season production” and so they are not counted in the third season totals.
Thank you, again, to every actor, director, designer, and production crew member of every show this season and seasons past. And an even bigger thank you to every person who attended Theater … for a change.
