SPERMALOT: The Musical gets another nod in Juice this week - “Put these shows on your Fringe must-see list.”
But we must remind folks that SPERMALOT: The Musical isn’t a spoof of Monty Python’s Spamalot. We never said it was and it isn’t.
We urge everyone to go to the Civic Center of Greater Des Moines July 17 - 22 and enjoy Monty Python’s Spamalot, the 2005 Tony® Award-winning musical (many of our cast are going to finally catch it on July 22, ourselves). Tickets are still on sale!
And when you get the chance while attending the 2007 iowa Fringe Festival, don’t forget to see SPERMALOT: The Musical, our own take on the Arthurian legends:

Our spunky little swimmers are searching for the Holy Egg … or … The British are coming, the British are coming (ahhhh)!Original material takes a prolific and pompous poke at American sexuality and human reproduction as a parody of the Knights of the Round Table. The Lady of the Labia sends Arthur, King of Spermatogonia, and his Knights off on their quest and into perilous dangers and obstacles. Only one can survive and create a union with the most holiest of holies - the Ovum, the fount of the future. And what’s more - we’ve got puppets and special appearances by Faerie Knight Lance Bass & Black (Jedi) Knight Samuel L. Jackson (ok, actors portraying Lance & Sam). Yep, it’s a live-action, puppet, musical, multi-media experience you won’t want to miss!Is it a bit sophomoric? Sure!
Is it a bit offensive? It’s a bit more than a bit!
Is it funny? Funny? Be prepared to wet your panties!
